Job Title: Stop Smoking Advisor
Contract: Fixed Term, 12 Months (extension may be considered subject to funding)
Location: Chesterfield, with workplaces across Derbyshire
Hours: 24 hours per week (3 days per week)
Salary: £16,698 per annum (FTE £25,743)
We are looking for a motivated and compassionate Stop Smoking Advisor to join our team and help people make positive changes to their health through specialist smoking cessation support.
About the Role
This exciting role will deliver evidence-based stop smoking support across Derbyshire, with a particular focus on supporting individuals who are in treatment or recovery from drug and alcohol misuse.
Working closely with Derbyshire Recovery Partnership, GP practices and other community services, you will engage, motivate and support people to reduce or stop tobacco use, improve their health and achieve lasting behaviour change. The role involves delivering support in a range of settings including recovery services, GP practices, community venues and other outreach locations across Derbyshire.
You will work with people who may face multiple and complex challenges, including substance misuse, mental health difficulties, homelessness, social isolation and other barriers to engagement. Training and ongoing professional development will be provided, including support to achieve the NCSCT Stop Smoking Practitioner qualification if required.

- Level 2 NCSCT or be willing to undertake training
- Experience of supporting individuals to improve their health and wellbeingÂ
- Experience of working with vulnerable or disadvantaged individuals
- Experience of maintaining accurate records and using electronic databases
- Excellent communication skills
- Ability to build positive working relationships with clients, colleagues and partner organisations
- Good organisational and time-management skills
- Ability to prioritise workload and manage a varied appointment schedule
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Accurate data recording and administration skills
- Competent IT skills, including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams) and case management systems
- Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle, with business use Insurance.
- Ability to travel and work flexibly across Derbyshire, including community-based venues, with occasional evening or weekend working
