Derbyshire Alcohol Advice Service is a Charitable Incorporated Organisation (CIO) that has been providing alcohol support for over 30 years to the residents of Derbyshire. We provide information, guidance and support for both individuals, family members and loved ones as well as running specialist projects around our Ex-Forces Community. We are not a national organisation, we are focused and dedicated to our local area and the people of Derbyshire.

More recently we have jointly established Derbyshire Recovery Partnership, bringing together Drug and Alcohol Services within Derbyshire for the first time.

Our History

DAAS began as North Derbyshire Alcohol Advice Service operating from one room in Chesterfield providing alcohol support services for the North East of Derbyshire. We expanded over the years from this base to become an organisation providing a comprehensive service across the county, working with council, health authorities, agencies and charities to widen and enhance the services available. Responding to need, DAAS has developed its own counselling service, alternative therapies and a service dedicated to the needs of our ex-armed forces community.

Our status as a charity is important to us as it sends out a clear message that DAAS cares about our community, its health and wellbeing and our aim to improve the lives of those affected by substance use.
