Support for Alcohol and Substance Misuse Problems

DAAS is part of Derbyshire Recovery Partnership, providing support for anyone over the age of 18 who lives in Derbyshire (excluding Derby City). We provide information, advice, guidance and direct access through our single point of contact into alcohol and drug treatment. This includes local 1:1 support but also access to groups, prescribing services, counselling, recovery activities and employment support.

All that is required is a quick phone call to 01246 206514 or complete the contact form below and we will be in touch.

A Clients Journey

It all starts with a simple phone call to our Hub. A referral form will be completed asking for information such as name, contact details and some information about the problems you are experiencing.

You will then be given an appointment. Following the referral you will be offered an appointment to attend one of our bases nearest to you. This may be given to you over the phone or sent out to you in a letter. The appointment will usually be within 21 days of the referral.
*Currently due to COVID19 most assessments and appointments are being carried out by phone and not in person

During the appointment a keyworker will carry out an assessment and agree with you a plan for your treatment and support. Please allow 90 mins for this appointment.

There are options.  You might only see your keyworker during your treatment, however there is a range of additional services which might be suitable for you. Your keyworker will discuss these with you.

Support for Affected Others

We provide sessions for family members affected by a loved one’s substance use.  The aim of the sessions is to help family members improve their quality of life, improve communication and support the person using to engage in services.
Call 01246 206514 to make a referral for support.

Counselling

DAAS provide a counselling service within Derbyshire Recovery Partnership for those people who as part of their treatment plan have been identified as being ready to explore some of the underlying issues which are contributing to their alcohol or substance misuse.

Our counselling service is accredited by the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP). All our counsellors are members of the BACP and adhere to the ethical framework for the counselling professions.

We also provide EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing) which is an effective therapy in the healing of traumatic and disturbing experiences.  This psychological therapy is not appropriate for everyone and you can speak with your counsellor about this.

*Currently due to COVID19 all appointments are being carried out by phone and not in person.
